Bias cut silk ribbon is 100% silk ribbon that does not have finished edges; it is cut from strips of silk fabric along the bias(at a right angle to the lengthwise and crosswise grain). Because it is cut along the bias of the fabric, this ribbon will stretch and is well suited for lining raw fabric edges as a decorative edge, such a wedding veil or quilt edge. It will stretch and bend without kinks and warping as normal ribbon would. Bias silk ribbon also looks nice when used with paper and floral crafts because of it's natural flowy look. It will not shred or fray, but it does have unfinished edges, giving it a specific look.

Silk bias ribbon comes in both a habotai (soft) matte and single face satin finish.

 It is our most popular silk riibon. It is a thin, soft and wispy 100% silk ribbon with finished edges and a lovely drape. It is suitable for many uses in all types of crafts.  Silk Embroidery ribbon comes in many colors, including hand dyed variegated colors and 5 widths, 2mm (1/16"), 4mm (1/8"), 7mm (1/4"), 13mm (1/2") and 32mm (1 1/4").

If you need a thicker, heavy silk ribbon, try our Silk Satin Ribbon.  This luxurious, soft, double faced 100% silk satin ribbon resembles in thickness the basic polyester satin ribbons you find in craft shops, but is far superior in look and hand. 

Silk satin ribbon comes in 4mm (1/8"), 6mm (just under 1/4"), 9mm( 3/8"), 12mm(just under 1/2"), 15mm (5/8"), 18mm (3/4"), 24mm (just over 7/8"), 36mm (1 1/2") and 50mm (2").
